about me

Everyone is unique and we all have different attitudes, interests, styles when it comes to learning. I recognise that some struggle with learning more than others and possibly need different strategies to help them progress. Some students have been formally diagnosed with a recognised additional need. e.g. dyslexia, ADHD, others struggle but don’t have a diagnosed or specific learning difficulty.

I provide a reliable, friendly and relaxed but professional service with one to one attention, targeted to your young person’s needs. I have a designated room for teaching that provides a secure relaxed environment for learning and also includes interactive teaching aids to tailor the learning experience to your child needs.

I believe education can and should be a positive experience where you learn and progress at your own pace, celebrating every achievement however small. To get there we sometimes need a little bit of help, and with the right support all people can reach their full potential. It is important to find any gaps in knowledge and help fill them, meaning the student has a better understanding and is able to make good progress.

Personal, private tutoring can significantly improve results and boost confidence.

I am a qualified teacher, with 24+ years’ experience including 15 years as Special Needs Coordinator (Senco). I have training in the fields of positive behaviour management and also Child mental /emotional well-being.

I have an up to date DBS certificate which is available for inspection.
